26/2 - More teambuilding…

The next day I am up at seven, and it rains. Horribly. We do some stretching exercises and take a plunge in the sea. The morning session is about the Meyers-Briggs type indicator, a way of characterizing a persons preferred way of interacting with others. I’ve done this before, but for most people it’s new. Unfortunately there is some misunderstanding about the meaning of introvert and extrovert in this context, and some people feel themselves labeled. Eventually it gets somewhat settled, and we’re off to the jungle.

The afternoon is meant for the obstacle course. We go into the jungle once more, and it’s tough. For almost three hours we sweat to get over fences, walk over planks, crawl over the ground and carry each other over ledges. It’s very warm, but I feel rather satisfied when we finish. After that we do a short exercise called river crossing, a variation on the minefield exercise.

At the end of the afternoon we return to the hotel and take the bus to Kuching city, where we’ll spent the last day. Dinner is in the hotel, and some people have requested karaoke, so it’s karaoke night. I join the Dutch girls in singing Abba’s Waterloo, and the rest of the guys in doing The Backstreet Boys. It’s huge fun. To close the evening, Chia gives us a our of the Kuching waterfront.
